Last week was election day. To be precise, last Tuesday. We went out on Monday night together with two US and two Canadian friends to a place we've never been before. Is called Murphy's Place. Is a totally nice, very traditional looking Irish pub. I love the place (actually all did :-) Is a nice pub with bar, pool table, loud music, old R'n'R vinyl LP's on the wall and lots of nice folks hanging out! Really a great place to be! Only problem was, that I started to feel cold during the day and my joints started to ache... usually does not mean anything good... especially if a lot of people around you are sneezing and do not feel well... Is dangerous weather now, cold at night and still very warm during the day. It cools down to 13° at night (or less) but shoots to 28° during day. I guess the a/c helped also to finally make the flu get me... long story cut short, Katja and I spent the last week in bed...no, no the way you think! We both got sick and thanks a lot of sleep, tea and the pharmaceutical industry I am half way back to normal. Katja is doing better too. I am still not 100% recovered but it is getting better. Thus, for the last week I really have nothing exciting to write about... I started to have regular Arabic lessons and it is fun! Learning a lot of new words and will try to set up a "Tandem" with an Arab speaking colleague at work to practice Arabic while teaching him one of the languages I speak (most probably Italian as they love Italy here and everybody wants to go there). Tomorrow my good friend will come back from his trip and he will stay for two weeks at our place. I am really looking forward to :-) Especially as next week is off! Although we will most probably not do anything very exciting (most people travel during Eid, we stay in Jordan) but anyway, first time to have 9 (!!) days in a row off since I am here :-) I'll keep you posted :-)
Hey, this was the 101st blog since Katja and I arrived in Al Urdun. Time flies by and we are here already half a year. Wow...so far we really had a great time and we both hope it will continue like this (touch wood!). Lots of new things, not always easy, but definitely lots of moments that we will keep for the rest of our life as good memories, lots of unforgettable impressions and lots of new good people we met that we will hopefully be able to keep in touch with...
Take care wherever you are in this world! Big hug from Amman! Don't forget to write us! Last comment is some 10 years ago ;-) e-mails are welcome too ;-)
Dear Fab, thx for this blog, I love it :) I hope you guys fully recovered from the flu. Looking forward to the next 100 postings. Take care , JAP
