And again we went to Beirut!!This time it was with very nice friends from Switzerland who arrived last week Friday night. They arrived while we were still hosting other friends and we spent one night “over booked” ;-) But it went through without any problem. They stayed one night with us in Amman. I showed them around and they really got the real taste of Amman :-) Downtown, traditional Arabic food, sun, prayer, roof top terrace, nice outdoor lounge, BBQ at our place, traffic during rush hour... all in! They then left for a very nice SPA resort around 75 minutes away from our place. They spent one day at the Dead Sea, then they went to the SPA where they spent one night. It is a gorgeous place in a valley behind the Dead Sea and is a very relaxing place. The next day they spent another day in Amman and the checked out all the different shopping malls and locations. I took one day off and we flew to Beirut as they wanted to see the city as they heard only good things. As I wrote in a previous blog, the city is indeed amazing and so Katja and were immediately on. Katja took care of all arrangements and so we flew to Beirut on the 11 o'clock flight and were there at noonish. We mainly spent our two days there at Solidaire and surroundings. We enjoyed the very nice area to do some crazy shopping, hanging out at nice restaurants and bars and having fantastic dinner at an Italian Restaurant and at the roof top of one of the best addresses in Beirut. It was just fantastic. The first day the night was great...nice temperature and a light breeze that made the night just lovely. The second one was a bit colder as we had some clouds and the temperature was lower but the wind was blowing. I think it is exaggerated to talk about “chill factor” as it was around 25° but you know what I mean. At the end of the day we didn't do anything special but we had such a great time as we just hung out, enjoyed the weather and the lovely company. For both, Katja and me it was a fantastic weekend.
