Raining sand and Xmas bazaar

We went to help out at the Xmas bazaar. We have two bazaars per year in Amman, one was some two month back, the other was this weekend. Many countries have stands organized by their embassies. They all sell traditional things from back home. The picture below says everything ;-) What embassy we helped out and what our main product was we sold :-)

All profit goes to a foundation of a princess for children with disabilities. As it was for charity Katja and I were happy to help. We went there something after 8 a.m. and left after 1500. When we went there in the morning it was some how chilly. Something around 13°C. We spent the day inside the exebition center and did not realize what the weather was like outside. When we left, we realized that a sandstorm was blowing over Amman! All cars were covered with sand and it rained. Actually it somwhow rained sand! We had heavy winds, mixed with sand and rain, together with chilly temperatures! So far, the worst weather we had since we arrived. It was so dusty that we walked fast without opening our mouth and breathing through our nose but we still had a dry mouth and my mouth tasted like sand...by the time we drove back the storm got worse and the wind got stronger. The sand storm was really bad and we hardly saw our neighbor's house anymore.

This is how my car looked after the first "sand-rain".

But after all a funny weekend. X-dinner and Xmas bazaar :-)

Take care wherever you are in this world! Big hug from Amman!
