New year started

The new year started... during Xmas and new year business slowed down, especially as headquarters was on holiday. Now we are back on track and back in business... here now it is raining some days which is great. Our colleagues who left for holidays are slowly coming back and I am sure they will all have stories to tell...

We are preparing our holidays. We are planning to go on a beach but are still not clear where to go...we started with Asia as we liked Singapore and Kuala Lumpur so much last year. Flip side is the long trip. Now we are checking the "closer" area which is the Gulf area. So we are looking for Oman or the UAE, although I travelled to the UAE many times in the meantime. But Oman sounds and looks very tempting... but as usual and as I know us, we might end up in a totally different place of the earth at the end... In case you have a good idea (it has to be warm!) let me know! I did not have enough heat and summer yet ;-) but I want to spend my holidays at a sea... I 'll keep you posted :-)

Yesterday we went out for dinner with a Canadian friend who lives here and her friend who visits her. This is something fun and very interesting being ex-pat. You always meet new people you would neverhave met. Everybody is different, with a different story and background. But everytime it is very interesting and we always have a good time when we meet new people :-) So yesterday we went for dinner to a very nice Lebanese restaurant called Tannoureen. If you drop by we go there together ;-)They have an endless amount of Mezze (starters) from which you choose. Eggplant, hummus, Tabouleh, chicken, whatever you want. We ate so much that all of us at the end were stuffed and we did not even manage to order the main course! Anyway we did not want to abstain from desert;-) we ordered Kanafeh (Arabic: كنافة), also spelled knafeh, kunafeh or kunafah, is an Arabic sweet made of very fine vermicelli-like pastry. It is sometimes known as shredded phyllo. Check here to learn how to prepare it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanafeh You gotta try it when you are here ;-) Is very sweet but I just like it! We were so full, that we only ordered one piece and we shared it by four! We had such a good time especially as the other person knew all the remote places Katja traveled to in far North Canada! Places like Tuktoyaktok ;-) The place really exists ;-) is the most far North you can drive in Canada... check here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuktoyaktuk
After the dinner we went for a beer in a cool pub next door and left when they closed at 1 a.m.

The cool thing this weekend is, that we have no plans at all :-) Bring it on, weekend can start!!

Take care wherever you are in this world! Big hug from Amman!
